ClickTrek
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how ClickTrek handles information in the Chrome extension and on the hosted ClickTrek Pro checkout, activation, recovery, and legal pages. ClickTrek does not require an account login.
Information processed locally in the extension
To provide workflow capture and export, ClickTrek may process the following information on your device:
- screenshots captured from the current tab for the current export
- page content visible in the captured image
- click coordinates, marker positions, step labels, footer text, and redaction rectangles
- export settings such as marker color and output quality
- the generated PNG export saved through Chrome's download flow
- optional Pro activation data stored in Chrome storage, including device id, activation code, signed entitlement token, and activation state
This workflow data stays local to the extension. If information is visible on a page you capture, it may appear in the final PNG. Review exports before saving, sending, publishing, or using them in customer or internal documentation.
Information processed by hosted Pro services
If you use ClickTrek Pro checkout, activation, entitlement refresh, activation recovery, or device-seat release, ClickTrek and its service providers may process:
- checkout nonce, activation code, and checkout source
- device id used for entitlement checks and active-seat limits
- Stripe transaction reference, customer identifier, payment status, and entitlement status
- basic request metadata needed for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and service operation
- a short-lived checkout nonce stored in browser session storage and a necessary first-party cookie for purchase recovery
Stripe processes payment details on Stripe-hosted checkout pages. ClickTrek does not collect or store full card numbers in the extension or hosted ClickTrek pages.
Purposes of processing
- to record workflow steps and generate local annotated PNG exports
- to provide optional Pro features such as watermark removal, HD export, and local redaction
- to create checkout sessions and deliver activation codes after successful payment
- to activate Pro, refresh entitlement tokens, recover recent activation codes, and release device seats
- to enforce the 3-device active-seat limit
- to prevent fraud, secure the service, comply with legal obligations, and respond to support requests
What ClickTrek does not do
- does not upload screenshots, page content, click data, labels, footer text, redaction regions, or exported PNG files to Cloudflare or Stripe
- does not require a user account or login
- does not include advertising trackers or behavioral advertising in the extension
- does not sell personal information
- does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
Service providers
ClickTrek uses service providers only as needed to operate the hosted Pro flow:
- Cloudflare for hosted pages, Pages Functions, security, and D1 database storage
- Stripe for secure checkout, payment processing, receipts, taxes where applicable, and payment records
- Google Chrome and the Chrome Web Store platform for extension distribution and browser APIs
Retention
Local workflow data remains on your device until the session ends, the tab is closed, you clear browser data, or you remove the extension. Downloaded PNG files remain under your control on your device. Local Pro activation data remains in Chrome storage until you deactivate Pro on that device or remove extension data.
Hosted checkout, entitlement, activation, and device-seat records may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for activation recovery, support, fraud prevention, security, accounting, tax, chargeback handling, legal compliance, and enforcement of the license.
Security
ClickTrek limits hosted data to the paid activation flow, uses Stripe-hosted checkout for payment information, signs entitlement tokens, and stores only the records needed to operate Pro access. Keep activation codes private. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and rights
- You can use the free extension without creating an account.
- You can choose not to purchase or activate Pro.
- You can deactivate Pro on a device to release one server-tracked device slot.
- You can remove local extension data through Chrome settings or by uninstalling ClickTrek.
- Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive information about personal data handled by the hosted Pro service.

ClickTrek is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under 13 or the minimum age required by applicable law.
International processing
ClickTrek and its providers may process hosted service information in countries where they operate. If privacy laws in your location grant additional rights, ClickTrek will handle requests as required by applicable law.
